MOZART ROUNDTRIP

ca. 400 km

What a Country, What a Genius, What a Music!

Named after the great composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart the Mozart Roundtrip certainly has a great expectation to meet.
Selected places of Mozart's living, conducting or composing as well as sites of his childhood are included into this cycle trail. Discover what formed this genius besides his parents, teachers and siblings.

Mozarts birthtown Salzburg has a long clerical history. The old town with the Getreidegasse, where Mozart's birthhouse lies, the cathedrals and domes is a must. Currently a "House for Mozart" is constructed, preparing for the Mozart year 2006.

But the surroundings of Salzburg hold the secret of his light and harmonious style of music. Green pasture, hills covered with dark-green forstest, steep mountains contrasting the lovely lakes - a multitude of impressions are to be gained.

The Salzkammergut with the dark green lakes and the Chiemgau with the idyllic old castles wait for you.
Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden, St. Gilgen, Rosenheim, Wasserburg and Kufstein were stations on Mozarts numerous journeys leading as far as Paris and Italy.

It might be mentioned, that the Mozart Roundtrip is hilly and demands a regular fitness.
The Riverside-Team wishes undisturbed travelling, going back into the past of the 18th century and discovering the landscape freely and tranquil.
