From St. Moritz in Swizzerland to Innsbruck in Austria

The Inn-cycle trail is famous for spectacular landscapes of the Swiss alpes in the high valley of the Upper Engadin and the extensive forests of the Swiss Nationalpark.
Mostly travelling on cycle paths, country and gruel paths also are included. Hilly with some ascents of medium difficulty, and several long descents, the trail is quite diverse. On the Swiss part of the cycle trail, some (also) steeper ascents have to be managed.

In St. Moritz, the mundane wintersports centre, you start the tour through the impressive landscape of the Swiss Engadin. The chapel of San Bastiaun in Zuoz with the medival frescos is worth a visit. Typical villages and the wonderful panorama of the steep mountains also make this part of the cycle trail very special.

At Martina (Martinsbruck) the passport has to be shown at the border between Austria and Swizzerland. Next intersting historical site is the hunting castle of the emperor Maximilian from Austria, the last knight.

The wild Inn here is one of the best rafting areas in Europe.
Passing through Landeck and Telfs, the two bigger cities before arriving in Innsbruck. we can also recommend the Mieninger-Plateau, as a real treasure.

Innsbruck, the alpine metropole, has a great reputation as residence of bishops, university and repeatedly hosting the Olympic wintergames. Situated on a cruical strategical and economical crossing point between Austria and Italy, Innsbruck prospered already in the early Roman times. Interesting sites in the old town comprise e.g. the Golden Dachl. Further the Royal Residence, the baroque dome and the basilika of Wilden should not be missed. This basilika has a reputation as most beautiful Rokoko church of Tyrol. The Renaissance castle Ambras invites to travel back in time.
