The Mystic River - National Parks, Mountains,
Nature!
High above Flachau/Winkl in the famous Radstädter
Tauern in the county of Salzburg, the third important river Salzburgs
springs into life.
|
|
The offical start of the rivercycle path
along the Enns is found in front of the Gasthofalm
near the small town Flachau, belonging to the renowned Salzburger
Sportwelt Amadé.
A walking tour starting at the inn "Wieseneck" leads to the
spring of the Enns on the mountain Ennskraxn.
A wonderful mountain scenery of the Radstädter Tauern is waiting
for you. |

The well signposted Enns
rivercycle path follows the valley through the worldwide
known skiing resorts of Flachau, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Radstadt.
During the summer time with the warm sunny days (temperatures from 25
to 30 °C) the green mountains invite to enjoy long, relaxing hiking
tours.
In Mandling the invisible frontier to
Styria is passed. On the left hand the highest mountain of Upper
Austria, the Dachstein massive, and on the right hand the Lower Tauern,
are encasing the Upper Ennsvalley with their impressive
panorama.
Travelling in the quiet green meadows of the widening Enns valley, one
wouldn't believe that the mountains of Schladming host international skiing
events in winter.
Passing by Liezen you are approaching the old monastery
of Admont. A visit of the world biggest library of a monastery
should not be missed.
The wild and idyllic mountains of the Gesause
are a major attraction for mountaineerers of all over the world. If you
want to avoid some of the longer uphill passages, please contact us. We
can give you the names and contacts of local taxis, specialised in transportation.
Near Altenmarkt you are leaving Styria and now the National
Park Ennsvalley in Upper Austria welcomes you. The deep green colour
of the Enns winding through steep mountains covered with large forests,
eagles and other rare species- welcome to
pure nature.
